What is a Christian Ashram
Created for accountability, fellowship, and discipleship, it was brought to North America in 1940. The Christian Ashram, whether in the one day, weekend, or weeklong format, continues as an effective way to authentically connect with one another and with Jesus Christ in the 21st Century, as the kingdom of God in the miniature on earth.
How did the Christian Ashrams begin
The Christian Ashram was founded in 1930 by Dr. E. Stanley Jones, missionary to India. Dr. Jones, world famous missionary, evangelist, and author, established the Christian Ashram movement at Sat Tal, India, where he took the ancient ashram format and gave it Christian content, grounding the program in Jesus Christ. At the time of his death there were 75 Christian Ashrams established in the United States, Canada, and around the world.

Gina Pollard leads Cross in the Desert UMC in Phoenix, Arizona. Besides leading her congregation, she is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist®. A self-described hope junkie, Gina’s calling is to journey with others by helping them validate the whole of who they are in the world and in their lives and to move forward with hope and confidence. Gina earned her Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. She holds certifications from The Grief Recovery Institute and the Trauma Institute International. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Faith Network..
An energetic, dynamic, vision-casting adventurer for Jesus is one of the best ways to describe Rev. Matt Henson. Matt brings a fresh perspective and energy to the church and her ministry. He specializes in Evangelistic Preaching, Mission Experiences, Healing/ Reconciliation Ministry, and Youth/Young Adult Ministry, using his experience and passion to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ to all people.
Matt serves as the Executive Director of the United Christian Ashrams International Ministry and as Lead Evangelist for Living the Adventure Ministries, an evangelistic and mission ministry. Matt travels around the nation and around the world as part of these ministries. Matt and his wife, Nancy, have four sons (Elijah, Micah, Judah, and Isaiah) and one daughter, Sarafina.

Registration Fee: $45.00
Room and Board: $210.00 – Single Occupancy
$190.00 - Double Occupancy
$150.00 - Triple Occupancy
Day rate: (Includes 6 meals) $114.00

Registration deadline is June 1st, 2024. Room and Board must be paid upon arrival at the camp.
Deluxe accommodations include two queen beds per room complete with linens. Dinner on Friday, three meals on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday are included.
The Day Rate is $114.00 plus the $45.00 registration fee. This includes six meals and the program. Early registration is advised, as accommodations are limited.
Registration will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 12th, with an orientation at 4:00pm for those who are new to Christian Ashrams, and with the program beginning at 5:00 pm. The retreat will end with lunch on Sunday, July 14th.
Limited handicapped accessible accommodations are available on a first come – first served basis.
